A recent post from Little Oink Bank Pig Sanctuary in BC highlights these concerns, shedding light on the avian flu outbreak among ostriches, the broader implications of factory farming, and the challenges of public discourse surrounding these issues.

British Columbia’s efforts to reintroduce northern spotted owls into the wild have ended in tragedy, with all six owls released into the Fraser Canyon now confirmed dead. The devastating outcome underscores the urgent need for stronger habitat protections and has reignited criticism of the provincial and federal governments’ conservation strategies.

Glue traps are a cruel and indiscriminate method of pest control, causing immense suffering to rodents and other unintended victims. Advocates are calling on the British Columbia government to ban these inhumane devices and implement more ethical and effective alternatives.

Late last week, the BC SPCA released its highly anticipated five-year strategy plan.
